Regardless of whether you are faced with problems on the new iOS 5.1 firmware, or want to implement untethered jailbreak.
You may have a strong desire or need to downgrade the operating system from iOS 5.1 to the earlier versions. Now we’ll show you how to Downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 and 4.x.
Before we continue we recall that this procedure implies the existence of stored SHSH blobs certificates on older iOS versions. Only in this case, you can downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1.
Note: Because after iOS 5.1 release, Apple stopped signing all previous firmware versions, the owners of the iPhone 4S will not be able to roll back the OS. The operation is only possible on the iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1 and both models iPod touch to iOS 5.0.1 (with custom files) and iOS 4.x if SHSH blobs and APTicket. IPad 2 users can downgrade to only iOS 4.x. Save SHSH blobs digital certificates can be as long as Apple signs the firmware.
