The download links for iOS 8.4 are now live for supported iPod touch, iPad and iPhone devices. This post covers the entire changelog along with details of how you can download iOS 8.4.
But before you do so, let’s do a brief recap on iOS 8.x. Each new installment of this firmware has brought new improvements and upgrades.
iOS 8.4 Features
While it was a tsunami of performance and security fixes with iOS 8.3, iOS 8.4 has a lot of general tweaks and bug fixes, and the main attraction is the support of Apple Music with the new Music app.
First introduced at WWDC, Apple Music is a music streaming service that lets a user stream from a catalogue of 30 million songs. The user has to subscribe for $9.99 a month; there’s also a $14.99 family plan that can be shared with 6 people. There’s also a free 3-month trial to try the service before you sign up. More details are available through this link.
So the platform is integrated right in the new Music app that is inside the release of today. The new firmware also includes 24/7 radio station called Beats 1 (free to use) and a social-media-esque platform that’s quite unique and allow users to connect with content creators and artists in a never seen before manner.
Apart from these attractions, the update has bug fixes and several security features, including the fix for the iPhone Messages crashing, as well as general improvements.
