Things have been slow in the world of jailbreak since the past few months, but it appears as there is going to be a swift transition into overtime very soon.
I say this because the Chinese Pangu Team members have been teasing a working iOS 10.3.1 jailbreak – they did it at a tech conference and the device in question was iPhone 7, sparking rumors that the team members could soon introduce a tool for the wider community that offers support for iOS 10.3.1.
iOS 10.3.1 jailbreak has been speculated by a picture and a clip that’s floating around the internet. It shows the member of the Pangu jailbreak team presenting, at a tech conference, the exploit for iOS 10.3.1.
The image displays a familiar-looking Pangu jailbreak app functioning on a blown-up handset and the word “jailbreaking” appears in the display’s middle. There’s a title above the image stating “iPhone 7 iOS 10.3.1” to show that the app is running on the latest firmware.
Additional speculation has been raised courtesy of a post published in Chinese language on social media, and it has been described as to come from a source that’s quite reliable, with the rough translation saying “we are working with pp assistant. If agreed, within a week issued 10.3-10.3.1 jailbreak.”
And given this image, the jailbreak would also run on iPhone 7 / 7 Plus.
And interestingly, the account also answered a query related to compatibility, saying that the jailbreak is going to be compatible with all 64-bit iDevices.
However, it’s important to not get carried away and take a deep sigh of relief before making any assumptions. Thing is, Pangu has been low-key since they released Pangu9. It could very well turn out to be the fact that iOS 10.3.1 exploits were nothing more than a security-related research project for the team, and that there are no intentions of releasing any jailbreak solutions for the public.
Also, it is a big possibility that whatever tool / method the team has available for iOS 10.3.1 jailbreaking isn’t actually ready to be released publicly. We will just say at this point that a simple photo won’t give away complexities of the things that are involved.

However, if we look at the previous relationship Pangu has with the jailbreak community, and presumably the social media post was a genuine one, you could very well see an iOS 10.3.1 jailbreak solution soon, even as soon as next week. Fingers crossed.
