Steps for Downloading & Installing iOS 12 Beta 1 IPSW
- Before anything else, enroll into the Apple Developer Program by going to https://developer.apple.com/programs/. Start from Step 2 if you’re enrolled already.
- Use your Apple ID to login to the Account section of the Apple’s Developer program.
- Register the UDID of your device with Apple. To find UDID, plug your iDevice into iTunes, choose it, and then click on the serial number to display UDID, like in the screenshot beneath. Now copy the number with command+c on Mac or ctrl+c on Windows.
- From the “Account section” of the page, select “Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles.”
- From the “Devices” section in the left pane, click “All.” Then From the right panel, select “+” and insert the device’s UDID.
- After the UDID is added, go to Develop > Downloads section. This page can be found directly at https://developer.apple.com/download/
- From there, choose the device from the drop down to start downloading the iTunes-restorable firmware file for iOS 12 beta.
- Heading back to iTunes-restorable method, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC. Once you are sure, open iTunes and connect your iDevice to your PC.
- Install the beta, Windows users should hold SHIFT, while Mac users should hold ALT, and then click “Restore iPhone.” iTunes will now ask you to choose the IPSW firmware file. Choose the iOS 12 beta file that was downloaded earlier.

You Don’t have an Developer Account? Download iOS 12 Beta Configuration Profile
The other route is to do an OTA update for iOS 12 beta. For that option, launch the same download page as previously mentioned, and click “Download” beneath the iOS 12 beta and beside the “Configuration Profile”, and then let it install on your iOS device (you may have to do a restart).
After the profile is set, go to General > Settings > Software Update on your iDevice and wait for OTA for iOS 12 beta to display. After it becomes available, tap “Download and Install” to get it.
If you don’t have an Apple developer account you can download the iOS 12 configuration profile from this link.
You must open this link with the Safari browser and install it on your device. After the installation, reboot your device and you can check for the latest iOS 12 update. Install the update and that’s it. Enjoy iOS 12 Beta 1.
And that’s all. Sit back and relax as iTunes does the iOS 12 beta installation on your iOS device. This could take some time, so be patient. Once done, your iPod, iPad, or iPhone will reboot, and you’ll be introduced to the Hello screen of iOS 12. Enjoy testing.
